Kathryn Esselbach just began her second semester as an MBA candidate at Washington State University. She is originally from Redmond, WA and attended Redmond High School. She received her Bachelor Degree in Broadcast Communication from WSU in 2009. Upon completion of her Nethercutt Fellowship, Kathryn plans to work with the City of Pullman on the current Storm water project.
Callie Gordon is currently a sophomore at Whitworth University where she is studying history and mathematics in anticipation of teaching secondary education upon graduation. Callie graduated with honors from Ellensburg High School in 2008. At Whitworth University, she is a member of the Women’s Choir, participates in intramurals and serves as a small group leader for her dorm. She has plans to travel to China during spring break with a faculty-led group and anticipates traveling or studying abroad in the future. Callie enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, and being active.
Aaron Korthuis is currently a sophomore at Whitworth University majoring in political science. His hometown is Lynden, Washington, where his parents and younger brother and sister continue to live. When he is not doing homework, Aaron also enjoys playing intramural sports, serving as President of the Political Awareness Club, and spending time with friends. He also interns at the Center for Justice in downtown Spokane, and spends his summers working in Lynden's raspberry fields and Alaska's commercial fishing industry. After college, Aaron plans on attending law school and perhaps seminary, hoping to pursue a legal career that emphasizes social justice.
Grant Leslie is a second year MBA student at Willamette University's Atkinson Graduate School of
Management. He studied Rhetoric and Media Studies at Willamette's college of liberal arts and competed on Willamette's Football, Basketball and Golf teams. In football, Leslie quarterbacked the Bearcats to an undefeated season and a top 5 national ranking. He was recognized as Willamette's J.H. Booth Student-Athlete of the year for his excellence in athletics, academics and community service. Leslie has volunteered at local elementary and high schools and has interned at the Oregon State Capitol in Salem. He was raised on Bainbridge Island, Washington and graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2005. His hobbies include watching and playing sports, reading, and traveling.
Katie Love is a first-year MBA student at Gonzaga University. She completed
her Bachelor of Arts in May of 2009 at Gonzaga University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a History major and Economics, French, and Classical Civilizations minors. Additionally, Katie is taking Spanish and French lessons with the hopes of one day working for the United States Foreign Service. Recently, Katie returned from Urubamba, Peru, where she briefly taught English and completed her TESOL certificate. Katie also works in the Gonzaga University Athletic Department as the coordinator of the tutorial program. In her free time, Katie enjoys discussing politics and economics, playing intramural sports, watching 30 Rock, and practicing language.
Taylor Marr will graduate from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington in 2011
with degrees in Economics and Political Science. After graduation, he plans to attend law school. Although he was born in Spokane, his family relocated to Oregon for his high school years where he graduated from Lake Oswego High School, ten miles south of Portland. He is a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honors society and participates in Pacific Lutheran University’s Student Investment Fund. Recently, his family moved back to Spokane where Taylor spends his summers and holidays with his four younger siblings and parents.
Madeline Snyder is the daughter of Jack and Pam Snyder of Jefferson, Pennsylvania. She is a Junior Elementary and Special Education major with a Political Science minor at Waynesburg University in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Madeline is a cheerleader, and is involved in the College Democrats, Colleges Against Cancer, and Kappa Delta Pi, an educational fraternity.
Hannah White grew up in North Spokane and graduated from North West Christian High School in 2007. After graduation she went on to Whitworth University. The fantastic teaching environment at Whitworth led her to discover her passion for politics, law and policy making. Her future ambitions included completing law school and building a career practicing law and serving her community. Hannah enjoys running, traveling, snowboarding and being a youth leader at Timberview Christian Fellowship.
